Grandma and Grandpa come for a visit

Grandma and Grandpa Page came to visit Tennessee. They spent two weeks visiting between Knoxville and Alison's family in Chattanooga. We spent some time visiting the Smokey Mountains and they enjoyed seeing Jordan and Sophie at their dance class. Other than that, we mostly just showed them living life at the Pohlsander house. It was so nice to be able to spend time together. It stinks that we don't have any grandparents anywhere close by.

Sophie's birthday party

On Saturday, August 29th Sophie had a birthday party to celebrate her fourth birthday. We had it at a splash-pad park nearby. What a blast!

Little Mermaids

Our next door neighbors have a swimming pool and they are so nice- they say we can come on over and swim any time.

Here are a few pictures of Jordan and Sophie, pool-side.

And Brandon too:

Ballerina Girl: Jordan

It has been such a long time since I have posted a new blog because I was unable to download (upload?) these photos from my crappy camera to our very fancy, new-fangled (Mac) computer. I needed Gerdt's help and it is such a rare thing for him to be home at the same time that I am home and we are not both sleeping (that may be the secret to the success of our marriage).

Jordan has been taking dance class-ballet and tap for the past six years-since she was three. She absolutely loves it and is really getting to be a pretty good dancer.

Here are pictures from her recital this past May. She was one of the talking flowers in the production of Alice In Wonderland. Bravo!!

Bugs in the Hair Part 2:

Daphne's "before" photo:

...and here are the "after" photos:

I was getting so frustrated with fleas all over Daphne so I just chopped off all her hair.  This way it is easier to get to the fleas with the flea shampoo. She looks so pitiful and I am sure she is feeling humiliated.

I am starting to wonder if I gave the wrong one the hair cut.

Bugs in the Hair Part One:

Have you ever had to do the old mayonnaise in the hair treatment on your kids because they have head lice?

Well, it's a very common thing here in the buggy south so shut up.

Our Family Garden

This was Gerdt's idea: to till up a big piece of our back yard and plant a garden. We have a nice neighbor who owns a roto-tiller, so in exchange for a little babysitting his girls that I did, our neighbor tilled up a piece of ground about 30 feet by about 50 feet (I just went out in the rain and measured).

This has been a lot of fun for the kids to work on with their dad, especially Jordan. They have already planted peas, spinach, and radishes.  We will still plant broccoli, cauliflower, squash, peppers, and tomatoes, and maybe more.

And here's Brandon with Daphne:

Easter with the Pohlsanders

This Easter at the Pohlsander house we had to get started early because we had 10 am church and on Easter Sunday if you are not at the church extra early it's standing-room-only.

We woke up to find that the Easter Bunny hid our dyed, hard boiled eggs and the kids' baskets of goodies all over the living room.  Sophie received a set of Handy Manny tools in her basket, Jordan received a skunk Webkinz, and Brandon received a gift card to Blockbuster Video.  Don't worry.  They also got lots and lots and lots of candy too.
